Irritable bowel syndrome is a state of uncomfortable feeling. It is known as a general gastrointestinal disorder. Several symptoms of this chronic problem are- diarrhoea, abdominal pain, cramping etc, which sometimes in turn causes malfunctioning of colon. The reasons behind the occurrence of this aliments are- excessive alcohol consumption, stress, weight issue etc, but there are various solutions you will get through proper diet.
Suitable Foods for Irritable Bowel Syndrome
• The people suffering from this aliment need to include fibre rich food in their daily diet, like- for breakfast you can have high fibre cereals, oatmeal, grain toast with honey, soy milk etc.
• In daytime, during lunch you can have grilled chicken (lean), salad with boiled potato, sandwiches with low fat cheese, fat free yogurt with fruits etc.
• You can chose porridge with fresh fruits for your evening meal. Remember to drink water after few minutes of your meal.
• People suffering from IBS can also chose French bread, raisins, brown rice, prunes for the diet.
Few tips about the food intake
• Make a practise of relaxed eating. Instead of stuffing your mouth with huge sized food pieces go for small bites. Make sure that you chew the food in an appropriate way.
• Water always helps your body by regularizing bowel movements; make sure that you are drinking eight glass of water minimum every day.
• Substitute your coffee-tea with fresh fruit juices (sugar free).
• You should consider lots of fresh fruits & vegetables for your daily diet, but remember to eliminate those vegetables (broccoli, Brussels sprouts) that increase the gastric problems.
• You should get rid of unhealthy habits like- extreme alcohol consumption & smoking, it will intensify the problem.
• Always intake properly cooked meat & that must be lean meat.
