We always like to have fast foods instead of having vegetables, but in long run this will turn problematic. Continuous
consumption of fast fatty foods can increase the bad cholesterol level, which leads to several heart ailments. So follow the following steps to maintain heart healthy body.
• For your lunch try to have some bread (whole wheat) with some fresh veggies & you can also add some lean turkey instead of having heavy fat salami, hot dogs etc.
• Nuts like almonds, cashew, walnuts though carry a high fat content, but it is unsaturated & believed to be heart-healthy.
• When it is related to your dessert choice go for something with minimum fat like fruit smoothies, fruit salad, low fat yoghurt etc.
• When you want to maintain your cholesterol level which in turn makes your heart healthy, always remember to avoid fast-junk foods.
• Include lots of high fiber food products into your diet. Fiber has a potential to reduce your bad cholesterol level. In your daily diet add the whole grain foods, oatmeal, fruits etc.
• Fresh fruits & vegetables are necessary for your daily diet. It has no fat value & is also rich in fiber. Arrange for some fruit salads or vegetable salads for your daily consumption.
• Walnuts, almonds, pistachios, cashews and pecans may be high in fat, but the fat is unsaturated and is considered heart-healthy.
• For cooking meat rather than tossing them in oil or sauce go for grilling, roasting etc.
• Include fish in your diet which are rich in omega-3, like mackerel, tuna, salmon etc.
• Trans fats are responsible for enhancing your bad cholesterol label, so try to keep your distance from foods that contain trans fat.
