Hospital is one of the major areas for spreading various infections, but your consciousness can help you to avert these ailments.

•    A few areas in hospitals like- high dependency units or intensive care units carry various infections, so try to keep your distance from such areas. While you are in such an area be conscious about your hygiene.

•    Stethoscope is another contaminated object which can also spread the bacteria. Before every use you need to clean it well.

•    Hospital staff as well as patients needs to wash their hands properly. Even visitors are also recommended to wash their hands after visiting the hospital.

•    When IV is a must for you, then be careful that in should be operated in a clean environment (inserted or removed) & also it needs to be changed in every 3-4 days.

•    Whenever you feel that you catheter tube is displaced immediately inform your nurse.

•    Surgical site infections can also appear among the people you are having a smoking habit than non-smokers.

•    Infection risks are very high when a therapy that involves a very high flow of oxygen and positive airway pressure ventilation is used.

•    When you have a flu or cold infection you should inform the hospital staff about your condition because it can increase the changes of chest infection.
